*Note: Shopify has a category system called “Product Collection“, available on plans higher than “Starter”, like Basic Shopify, Shopify, Advanced Shopify, and Shopify Plus. Just like WooCommerce, Shopify collections allow you to group products into categories for easy management. There are two types of collections:
- Manual Collection: You select the products manually, and they remain fixed unless you change them (add/remove products in the category) manually.
- Smart Collection: Products are automatically added based on set conditions.
While Smart collections can be convenient, they conflict with our plugin. Since products are automatically assigned to categories based on rules instead of direct admin control (as in WooCommerce), it’s not possible to keep data synced. Therefore, WooCommerce categories are imported as Shopify Manual collections
- Check exist: By default this option is disabled -> And the plugin will ignore previously imported categories. Enable this option to double-check all categories before importing. The plugin will scan all categories in Woo (including those previously imported) and check if the category entered in Shopify is still on Shopify, if not, the category will be re-imported to Shopify.
Note: Enabling this option will slow down the migration process speed. - Hide empty: Enable this option to ignore the categories which has no item.
